A “yes” from a provider is only the beginning.
The questions that reveal whether a processing arrangement can support your business over time.
Inside this guide
Start with the actual structure
An expression of interest is not an approved processing arrangement. Establish which legal entity contracts with you, which services it supplies, and which entity makes the underwriting decision. A directory match is a starting point for this discussion.
Separate acceptance from operating scope
Document the business model, company jurisdiction, customer markets, sales channels and expected volume. Ask the provider to confirm its proposed scope in writing. Material changes to these facts may require a fresh review.
Understand the movement of funds
Request a worked settlement example covering processing deductions, reserves, currency conversion, transfer costs and minimum payout thresholds. Ask how refunds and disputes affect an available balance.
What merchants should do
Compare the complete written proposal with your cash-flow needs. Resolve inconsistent commercial terms before signing and maintain a clear record of approved activities. A low headline rate alone does not tell you whether the arrangement fits.
